The Return of Dance is a video that talks about the thing that I missed the most during 2020: going out to dance with other people. It captures the feelings of joy, victory and excitement of coming back together after a year of staying home. It is also a technical challenge: rigging, character animation and 3D and 2D integration.
Process
The 3D environments where designed to enhance 2D+3D integration. An axonometric camera provided a flatter rendered image, and the 3D objects were deformed and rotated towards IT to avoid them disappearing from the final frame.
